VO2 Workout, Time Trials?, Motivation
Friday, November 2nd, 2007Last night we had another VO2 workout. I think there is something wrong with the fact that I like the feeling at the end of these 20 minute sets, when you feel like you can’t stand up and you can’t quite breathe!?!? Then again, I took up speed skating at 28 years old… I know there’s something wrong with me!
I just called to register for time trials tomorrow morning, and was advised to call back after 4pm to make sure they are not canceled. The minimum number of registered skaters for them to hold time trials used to be 12, I’d imagine it’s still the same number… but there have been a lot of cancellations this year. More so than in the past two years, or at least it seems like it to me. Hopefully they will have enough people and I can get my races in (500m and 1500m).
Final note for the day, I’m big on finding things that motivate you/me to do more. Whether it’s a song, quote, picture, etc… You can’t be 100% motivated all of the time. Some days it just doesn’t happen. So, it helps to have things that push you to keep your focus. As the 2010 Winter Olympics get closer, more things become available about what the host nation is planning to do in Vancouver. Periodically, I get emails from the Vancouver 2010 website, the email that I got the other day had a great video/song that will be part of Canada’s “Own the Podium 2010″ campaign. You can read more about it here. But if you are having a rough day at work, or you need some motivation for that evening workout, I’d suggest visiting this site to see the video. BELIEVE
